Some History According to the Owner |
This car was bought by my wife’s uncle around 1988. He had it in the garage on a concrete floor. The uncle was a policeman and he died approx 3 years ago at a family reunion in California, when he had a heart attack while skin diving with his daughter.
He had this car and 2-3 other MG’s, including an old sprite and 2 others. He apparently drove this Healey some until a wire harness burned up. You can see where a part of the hood was sanded where the paint got hot. He had spent close to $900 back then to re-upholster the seats and doors. He also purchased many spare parts, some of which are still NIB (new in the box).
He had taken one door off and started the repair work on a quarter panel. The engine had been treated with some oil so it would not freeze up. The ignition switch cable is undone from the dash..looks like he had a new cable for it. He had replaced some bushings in the front end, but apart from that, it appears he spent a lot of money on spare parts then never had time to put them in.
He was an English car fan, but his early death prevented him from ever completing the project. There are some manuals, maybe an original shop manual as well.
In Summary |
– A classic big Healey project car
– Includes lots of new and reburb parts to help finish the restoration
– If you’re itching for a project, you’ve come to the right place
Vehicle Condition |
I have not viewed or photographed this Healey. I am relying on the pictures and details provided to me by the seller. I believe that the seller has priced the car very aggressively for what it is. The seller and I do not make any representations regarding the overall condition and driveability of the car because they are not known. The engine is free but does not start. View the pictures carefully and feel free to ask questions.
The owner invites and encourages any interested party to inspect this
