Andrew R. Wright Mixed Media Art ‘The Flush’

Andrew R. Wright is a young artist on the rise. In a very short time, he has mastered much of the difficult technique of printmaking, including monoprints, wood block, and linoleum. He is much sought after by many clients, including Field and Stream, Alfred Hitchcock Mystery Magazine, Adirondack Life, Pepsi Cola Ogdensburg Bottlers, and the Ringling School of Art and Design. His work has been displayed in The Society of Illustrators and the Richmond Illustrators Club Juried Exhibition, as well as Empty Magazine, CMYK Magazine, and various galleries.
Andrew has spoken eloquently about his concepts and techniques, and to quote him: “When it comes to images, I prefer to look at ones that utilize shape, value, and color as opposed to extreme rendering. I think that is what attracts me to the techniques of printmaking. Woodcuts in particular. It is all about the design of shapes. You can create the illusion of form and space with very little rendering. The natural inconsistencies that happen during the printing process are often very charming and only add to the illusion.”
