1973 Triumph X75 Hurricane Super Rare Motorcycle One Year Only Complete & Original
I am pleased to offer this very rare 1973 Triumph X75 Hurricane motorcycle. This was a one year only offering by Triumph and this bike is presented in excellent original and complete condition with less than 1500 miles driven from new. This is not a typo. Original, Complete, less than 1500 miles driven since new. This bike came from the collection of Wayne Hamilton, a very prestigious Triumph collector whose collection was more of a museum than a collection.
The Triumph X-75 Hurricane was a “factory special” motorcycle designed by fairing specialist Craig Vetter. The X-75 most distinctive features were it’s swooping fiberglass bodywork, a 3 US gallon gas tank, lowered gearing and very distinctive triple exhaust on the right side. This is the motorcycle credited with creating a new class of motorcycle, “the cruiser”.
Since it’s short life ended, the Triumph X-75 Hurricane has become a highly sought after collector’s bike. This is true partly because there were so few built, but primarily because of it’s uniqueness. Thought it was called a Triumph, it was actually the last production machine of the BSA marque with a BSA engine and frame… it looked like no other machine before it with its integrated seat, tank and side covers. Only 1171 were built by the combined BSA/Triumph works in their Coventry/Meriden England factory. Production started June 2 1972 with first bike, serial # JH00101TRX75, and ended January 12, 1973.
VIN # is TRX75PH00736. Please note that the bike is still titled in the original owners name (title date 12/18/73). This is essentially a one owner rare bike.
