1970 Fender Telecaster Zebrawood Prototype
I am pleased to offer this gorgeous Fender Telecaster Zebrawood Prototype with original hard shell case in excellent condition. This is one of only two known Zebrawood Prototypes and the only one to feature a finished Zebrawood fingerboard (the other has a solid rosewood neck from a rosewood Tele) making this a much more complete example.
This incredibly rare Tele was purchased in 1979 from Chris Hanleys Intergalactic Music in NYC and has been in a private collection since. Intergalactic Music was famous for dealing with the top rock stars of the day like the Rolling Stones, John Entwistle, Greg Lake, John McLaughlin and a host of others. If Intergalactic had it then chances are it was celebrity owned. According to an expert, the only thing I see on this guitar which probably isn’t original is the brass nut installed which was a popular mod in the mid-late 70’s.
