1970 Chevelle SS 396 L78 375HP 4 Speed 2 Build Sheet Red Gem
I am pleased to present this incredible muscle car investment opportunity. Offered today is a show quality, investment grade, 1970 Chevelle SS 396 L78 375 HP Numbers Matching car with 2 original build sheets. You just don’t get much better than that. VIN # is 136370K121127.
This big block Chevelle features 4 speed transmission, bucket seats, console, cowl hood, 3:55 posi rear etc. etc. The car has been professionally restored within the last 3 years to a very high standard. The odometer shows 45,XXX but this car has only been driven approximately 100 miles since being restored and it has been stored in a climate controlled environment ever since. It is extremely fresh and straight. The original motor was rebuilt with new original smog equipment put back on this car. A new clutch was added and the trans. was rebuilt. It also came from the factory with front disc brakes.
Be sure to review the pictures of the super clean underside below. This is a very low production car that was factory built as a red car (paint code #75) with red bucket seats (rare combination) and console Chevelle SS 396.
Very rare, very collectible and this one is in very nice condition.
Some Production Data |
The high horsepower models such as the LS5 and LS6 were limited production and rare. Only 4,298 LS5 cars were built and 4,475 LS6 cars. What was the rarest of them all? The L78 solid lifter 375 hp model with a production of only 2,144. It was also known within the manufacturer and insurance circles that this engine was underrated for insurance purposes. This engine was almost the exact design of the earlier Corvette L78 that was rated at 425 hp. The intake and carb were changed so it would fit under the Chevelle hood. Still, most collectors agree that this engine is closer to 400 hp than to 375.
In Summary |
If you want to join the muscle car craze or add a rare Chevelle to your collection, you should be considering this car. It’s got tons of power, tons of options and tons of eye appeal. Some experts would also argue that it’s got lots of upward price potential. It is definitely an investment grade piece of American Iron.
This vehicle represents a truly iconic American muscle car. It has been expertly restored and will not disappoint. You will be proud to own, to drive or to show this great Chevelle.
Vehicle Condition – – I have not personally inspected or photographed this vehicle. I am relying on the pictures and descriptions provided by the seller. I can however tell that this 1970 Chevelle is the real deal and has the documentation to prove it. It is being offered at a very reasonable price for a very hard to find L78 Chevelle. Don’t sit around and think about this one for too long or it will be gone.
I invite and encourage any interested party to inspect this car in West Suburban Chicago (about 40 minutes from O’hare Airport) and determine for yourself that this car is truly in excellent condition. Seeing is really believing.
$75 documentation fee to be added to the winning bid.
