Vintage Hamilton Altair Electric Super Rare Wrist Watch Original Bracelet
This is a very rare and unrestored Hamilton Altair gold filled vintage electric wrist watch circa 1958. Highly futuristic with it's asymetrical case design. This watch appears to have been barely worn and is in excellent condition. Original and correct Calibre 505 movement. This is the rarest and most limited of the Hamilton electrics. This example is very original and unrestored.
Inside of case reads:"Hamilton, Lancaster, Pa. 10K Gold Filled, E78157". This is a quintuple (5) signed piece (dial, crown, case, movement and bracelet).
The watch currently has a Hadley Roma croc band in order to protect the original and highly sought-after mesh bracelet. The original bracelet is included of course. Why pay $4499 for an Altair without the original mesh band? Why go to another auction just to get the bracelet that should be included? This auction includes everything.
Case, crystal, dial and crown are all in superb condition. Barely any wear whatsoever. Push in the crown and the second hand begins to move immediately. Watch seems to be keeping very accurate time. Pictures really do not do any justice to this fine timepiece but I have done my best to capture clear accurate images.
Many who know and covet this watch also know to check the structural integrity of the lugs (due to their thinness). These lugs are strong and straight. This is another sign that the watch has barely ever been worn.
I will be representing a vintage watch collector as he liquidates his entire personal collection of valuable watches including Rolex, Le Coultre, Bulova, Gruen, IWC, as well as a variety of rare Swatch watches. Be sure to check my other auction or other items for these treasures.
